Stamping Dragon Design, Challenge, "Year of the Dragon"

Hello my dear blogger friend...

Its time for the new Stamping Dragon Design Challenge and this challenge is called "The year of the Dragon". The idea is that you HAVE TO USE A DRAGON somewhere on your project.

As usual, we the lucky DT got a couple of digi's to choose between and this one was my favorite. If you would like him as well, you can find him here.

I decided to go for a gate fold card. I tend to stick to the plain shape of cards, but since I've been asked to do a demo soon, I decided that i had to go a bit further and try something different.
I have done gate's before and do love them, I supposed I just get a bit lasy at times.

Now I AM a bit of a lacy crafter, because for the base card, i just took a normal c6, that is folded in halv and bent in the sides to the middle. So when that is done, I actually have a card in 4 pannels. I then cut a piece of card to fit the inside of the card. (covering the 2 middle pannels). I pressed the sides of the inner card into an versamark pad, sprinkled with red embossing powder and set with a heatgun. (I made sure it looked a bit messy) I then attached the card to the inside and voila, you have a strong gate fold card. (yes it will have a scoreline on the back!!!! but thats the price for being lasy :-)

Then it was on to the front... Having printed my image the night before, I started to colour Rubert in. I chose to do him red to match the rest of the card. Here i also pressed, sprinkled, and heated the edges, only made it less messy...

I put the 2 panels of the front through a egde punch (I used one from Martha Steward) and then cut some velum palels to fit each side. (I used velum from Docraft, I dont remeber the name but it was from the oriental series they had out some time ago). I used tiny blobs og glue under the black bit on the velum, to attach it to the card.

I then added my image to the one panel.. Make sure you ONLY attach the image to one side, OR your card wont open!!!! And last, Added a brad in the corner. (I nipped of the legs of the brad so i didnt have to make a hole in the card) ( Brad is from the V&A collection also from Docrafts)

And thats it... Hope you like my card.

Thank you for stopping by my blog, and THANK YOU for any comments.

Hugs to all, Marleen xxx
