BeeCrafty - Scenery Animals - Hochanda Samples

Did you catch Bev on the tellybox this monday?? She brought some brand new stamps to Hochanda.. And they are AMAZING.. Another series to my favorite list lol.. Anyway.. they are called scenery animals and you can find them HERE in the STORE with all the other amazing goodies..

Here are the samples I made for the show:

This one is made with distress oxide ink and just plain black stamping. I used the sun dinkable to add a bit of debth up in the corner.

 This one is muddled distress ink, stamping woth distress ink and gold embossing powder..

 I love using smaller stamps to make backgrounds and thats how I made this background. My Zebra is stamped on top of a watercolour background.

 For this one I cut a circle shaped card and stamped the world map with greens and brown distress ink. I then just stamped my animals over. I used a dinkable to add a bit if dimention.

 This one was me just having a play and liking the outcome.. The background has been made using some old spray inks, then using the inny of the circle easy frame I swiped my versamark pad around it and added gold embossing powder. Using the outie easyframe I then finished by stamping my animals.

Last but no means least, an MDF tag smothered with Lustre Luxe and stamped with gold embossing powder..

BeeCrafty Inspiration. - Together we so rock.. 2 tone tecnique with embossing powder..

A quick card for today.. A friend of mine asked me just the other night if I by any chance could whip her up a quick card she could give to  her husband. She had a surprise for him and wanted a card to go with it. All she asked was that it was music themed..  

I knew strait away which stamps to use.. The music ones from BeeCrafty of course..
The Bee's has a fantastic range of music themes stamps. check them out HERE.

Right, forgive the bit weird selection of pics lol.. I did my best to try and capture the magic of this card.. 

First thing first.. the background.. its a play with distress ink in a couple of the red colours and water.. 

I then did all my stamping with black versa fine.. Versafine, I personally find is best of this tecnique due to its speed of drying and its crisp black colour. 

I didnt rush to add the silver embossing powder, I wanted to make sure some of the ink had started to dry already.. Where the powder came on solid, I rubbed a bit of it off just with a finger. (The finger is the best tool for this job as you dont want to brush of the full coat of powder, just a bit of it)

The key (and the tricky part) is to add only enough powder to "outline/enhance" the image. You dont want a solid embossed image.

The magic of this tecnique is that depending on how the light falls on the card, you either have a silver image or a black image.

Once I heat set the powder I matted and layered my card with black card, just to really make it all pop.

Right thats it really.. I love revisiting older stamps I have in my stash and trying out new tecniques and this one came in handy when a friend needed a wee favour.

BeeCrafty - SNEAK PEAK of brand new stamps

I have a very exciting post to share today..
I have gotten the honour of sharing a sneakpeak of the BRAND NEW stamps from
BeeCrafty.

Make sure you tune into Hochanda this friday at 10am & 3pm.

 

The stamps for this brand new release are amazing and its all about Safari.

They are'nt yet in the BeeCrafty STORE, but will be avaliable on Hochanda from Friday.

Here are my samples, and DO look forward to se what all the other girls have made.. Their samples are amazing as always..

 Stamping and black embossing powder.

 Alcohol inks on vellun, stamping and black embossing powder.

 Gelli plate background with acrylic paint. Stamping and high lights with white gel pen.

 Distress ink background, water sprayed through star stencil. Circles die cut, stamped and tripple heat embossed with black embossing powder, smothered in distress ink.

 Another Gelli plate background and plain black stamping.

The sentiments I've used are the new BIG sentiments. The sentiments are the same as previously released BUT they are BIIIIGGG.. I just love them. Next week I will share a few more samples I have made for the show, but only used the sentiments.

BeeCrafty Inspiration -

My turn to share a bit of inspiration for
BeeCrafty.

Bev was on Hochanda last Friday with the Banksy XL's and some fab new goodies. New backdrop stamps, new MDF and new Dinkables.

Here is my samples, sadly they didnt make it back to the Bee's in time to make the show, but hope they can still provided a bit of inspiration.

 For my first samples I had a play with the skyline stencils and one of the brand new dinkable, the Bats.. Oh how I love this stencil.. Card is simple distress ink through the stencils.

 For this one I made a background using oxide inks and stamped with one of the new Backdrop stamps. I used a couple of MDF cogs, painted with Lustre Luxe to add on top.

Another Oxide background. I stamped my Banksy boy and girl, and then used the Dinkable that looks like a sun to create some shadows around them. I finished using the spotty dinkabel with distress ink.

Another Distress Ink background. I then used the Ghetto blaster boy but I stamped him of the page and repeatedly. I finished with some water splashes and a wee sentiment.

And then there is the new MDF. The doorhangers. I love these.
For both of these I used Lustre Luxe to colour. For the cogs, I used a trick Sam showed on her last Hochanda show. She mixed the colours of Lustre Luxe together. So I decided to try this out and managed to make this stunning brown colour. I used Oxide inks to stamp the subtle backgrounds and I finished with a few bits from my stash.

BeeCrafty - Wizard of OZ Samples.

I appologise, I totally forgot about my post for BeeCrafty yesterday. Life is a bit hectic around here at the moment.. No excuse though so I decided to post my samples today.

Bev was on Hochanda this past Tuesday with the amazing stamp collection called "Inspired by the Wizard of OZ". Its a beautifull collection based on the original book.

This one is made with distress ink. I made a water colour wash for the back ground and then the same colour through the brick stencil.
Mr Tinman is coloured and covered with glossy accent.

This background took quite some time to make to be honest, but it was worth it I think. I started by repeatedly stamping OZ greeting with red, orange and yellow distress ink. I then misted it with water and left to air dry. Once dry, I took the brick stencil and used a clear paste through it. Once again, left to dry. Once totally dry again, I misted the background with plenty of water so the ink between the bricks started to run. Once again left to dry.

While doing all this waiting, I stamped the same greting on to vellum and I stamped and water coloured my Lion. I fuzzy cut him and added him to my background with my greeting.

 Once again my brick stencil, this time with white paste. Once oaste was dry I added brusho on top.
Dorothy is water coloured and fuzzy cut as is my greeting.

 This one was a play on one of my favorite card designs. Its no secret that I love making backgrounds and this design is such an easy way to show off a background. 

And then my favorite.. These stamps has a vintage feel to them. And after making the other samples I still hadnt come up with that "wow" card that I always aim for when getting a new collection landing on my table. And then it hit me.. I had made my samples as usual BeeCrafty cards.. My usual style.. But these stamps are so different and needed a different approach.. And thats when this vintage card came together..

I used the BeeCrafty Steampunk papers, lots of layers and distressing, water colouring and fuzzy cutting, twinw and whatever that mesh stuff is called  lol..

I love this creation and think it truly sets of these beautiful stamps.

Stamping Dragon Desgin Inspiration.

Hello everyone and thatnk you for popping by..

I have a card to show today that I have made for 

Stamping Dragon Design's Inspiration blog, "The Dragons Den".

Its not often I get the time to sit down and simply just play. I mean, making projects that dont follow a theme or a set of instructions or guidelines. So making my inspiration pieces for The Dragons Den, is always a pleasure.

I chose to make a male card. In my husbands family, several of the boys, plays the guitar, so it was with this in mind, that I made my card.

Ive used the image called "Guitar"

and papers from the "Sarah" collection.

Matting and layering.

Die cut stars.
Gems & greeting.

Image is printed on watercolour card and coloured with distress markers then coated with mice powder to give a gentle sheen.

Funky Hand, Forgotten Funky..

Hello everyone..

Its time for the "Forgotten Funky" over on

Funky Hand

This month we have used the "Colour me happy" CD.

This is my first time using a Funky Hand CD, heck its one of the few times Ive ever used a CD lol.

It took me a while just to get the hang of the idea of a CD, but once I had a good look round, It was really easy.

There are several paper bundles on the CD and even a few digi's on it and it was really easy to look through it all.

Here is what i have made:

 The card above is made using the Bubbly Funk collection and one of the digi's on the CD.

 And this card is made using the "Joyful and triumphant" collection.
The house image is also from the CD but the "New home" stamp is from the "Celebrate" stamp collection.

Delicious Doodles

Here is what i have made:

 I kept it simple. Personally I find mens cards work best when they are kept simple.

 An amazing digi stamp from Delicious Doodles.

 I used my new toy, a present from my hubby. The clock & hands die from Marianne Designs.

  I used an embossing folder to create the back ground.

 

And that is it.
