A take on No Line Colouring - Colourific Inspiration

Hello Bloggers
And welcome.

Today I want to share a take on "No Line" colouring.
As per usual I have used stamps from Colourific, and this time I used the
Hydrangeas
set.
Its a technique I love the look of but just never got the hang off. I'm not a whizz at colouring in anymore, simply because I stopped doing it as it was so time consuming. Instead I now use watercolours as I love the look and also as its so much faster than markers.

Anyway. I was playing the other day and decided I wanted my flowers to be colourful, so I stamped the flowers with Distress Oxide inks. It looked pretty but I wanted more colour so I went ahead and used the same colour inks as the stamped lines, to colour with. I simply pressed the ink pad on to my craft mat and used a water brush to colour in with.

The oxide ink leaves an oxidiced look to the colours.. hence the name I'm guessing lol, but it gives the colouring a bit more life. As I used the same colour the lines blure into the colouring.

It was an easy way to achive the look but I also believe its may be a good starting point to really learn this technique.

If you missed my YOUTUBE from last week, also using stamps from Colourific,  pop over HERE to watch it.

And dont forget to come and visit us in the Colourific FACEBOOK GROUP. We have a monthly "Anything goes" (open to all stamps) challenge with a prize donated form Colourific.

And that is all from me for today.

Mixed media card - Colourific Inspiration

Hello Bloggers
and welcome to my blog.
Its once again Wednesday and my turn to share some  inspiration using the amazing stamps from Colourific.  Ive used a selection of stamps for the mixed media card Ive made for today. You can find them all in the STORE.

I started by adding distress ink to my background. I used water colour card stock to make sure it could take enough water to make the colours blend.

I used Archival black ink to stamp strait onto my background. I used the A6 Borders and Stems and the A6 Grunge background.

I stamped the butterfly and the sentiment from the A5 Butterflies take flight set on to scrap watercolour card stock and also used distress ink to colour, but this time i used a homemade silver mist spray as my water. This has given the sentiment and the butterfly a bit of sparkle.

I cut out the butterfly and added to my card base using foam tape.
The sentiment I cut into single words and added scattered around the card.

This is such an easy way to make a mixed media look to a card and can be done using any stamps you have in your stash.

And that is all from me for today.

BeeCrafty Inspiration. - Together we so rock.. 2 tone tecnique with embossing powder..

Hello Bloggers..

A quick card for today.. A friend of mine asked me just the other night if I by any chance could whip her up a quick card she could give to  her husband. She had a surprise for him and wanted a card to go with it. All she asked was that it was music themed..
I knew strait away which stamps to use.. The music ones from BeeCrafty of course..
The Bee's has a fantastic range of music themes stamps. check them out HERE.

Right, forgive the bit weird selection of pics lol.. I did my best to try and capture the magic of this card..

First thing first.. the background.. its a play with distress ink in a couple of the red colours and water..

I then did all my stamping with black versa fine.. Versafine, I personally find is best of this tecnique due to its speed of drying and its crisp black colour.

I didnt rush to add the silver embossing powder, I wanted to make sure some of the ink had started to dry already.. Where the powder came on solid, I rubbed a bit of it off just with a finger. (The finger is the best tool for this job as you dont want to brush of the full coat of powder, just a bit of it)
The key (and the tricky part) is to add only enough powder to "outline/enhance" the image. You dont want a solid embossed image.

The magic of this tecnique is that depending on how the light falls on the card, you either have a silver image or a black image.

Once I heat set the powder I matted and layered my card with black card, just to really make it all pop.

Right thats it really.. I love revisiting older stamps I have in my stash and trying out new tecniques and this one came in handy when a friend needed a wee favour.
That is it for today. Thank you for popping by and for any comments left behind.

Art Journaling and a Lustre Luxe Tag..

Hey Bloggers
And Happy New Year to you all..
My first blog post of the year is for
BeeCrafty.

Over the holiday, I took a wee break from crafting as my mojo has been hiding for a while. In order to kick start the mojo a wee bit I decided to try out a bit of art journaling. Its not something I do often but I was inspired by my teamie Jane and her amazing art journaling.. Mine is only beginner pieces compared to Jane's so do pop over to see her amazing journal.

I started colouring the whole page with purple Lustre Luxe. I used the easy frame circle stencil as well as few of the Dinkables to add more colours of Lustre Luxe. For the 2 suns I added the Lustre Luxe with a wee spatula so its raised, just like using paste. For all the circles I just used blending foam.
And then it was really just doodling. I used a white gel pen as well as a black sharpie.
I did think of adding a greeting but decided just to leave it.. But you never know,  might go back to it lol...

Right, while I was playing I went for a second page. This one is using the circle wire style frames with Oxide inks. I also used the feather and the spotty Dinkable. I finished with the "Angry Bubbles" sentiment stamp.

Well that is really it for today, but before I go I want to share a few tips for using Lustre Luxe..
Let me post a few pics and I'll explain as we go..

I made these 2 little tags, but I didn't like the border I made down the bottom, but stamped with Archival ink, the ink was gonna come off.

So I decided to cover up the tag and start over.
1st coat of Lustre Luxe going on, already great cover..

2nd coat, only the black showing through..

And the full tag now covered.. It took 4 thin coats of Lustre Luxe to fully cover and no tag wasted..
Now.. Tip no 1:
Leave each coat to dry for a few mins. Lustre Luxe pretty much drys instantaneously but I find that if you leave it for a few minutes, the next coat goes on a bit smoother.

 Before and after..
After my tag was dry I used a shimmer spray made also from Lustre Luxe to add the gold shimmer and then the circle wire style frames with Oxide inks.
The shimmer spay is made by filling a mini mister with water (fillit only half way with luke warm water) and a wee lump of Lustre Luxe. Shake well.
Tip 2: Empty out your mini mister after use and clean mister well as I left mine and mister was all clogged up.
And that is it for today. Thank you for popping by and for any comments left behind.

BeeCrafty Inspiration - Luster Luxe and Oxide inks

Hey Bloggers

Once again wednesday and my turn to share inspiration for
BeeCrafty..

For today I have had a play with my Lustre Luxe.
For those who dont know what Lustre Luxe is, pop over to my YOUTUBE channel for and see the TUTORIAL I made on the Lustre Luxe.

These 2 cards really started bacause I wanted to see the difference of Lustre on different card. The gold background is on black card. The green is on white smooth and the red Lustre is on water colour card. I then wanted to see if Oxide ink would be able to stick to the Lustre so I grabbed my "Birds & Butterflies" stamp set and used a different stamp on each colour. I stamped with an Oxide colour that was close to the Lustre Colour.

The funny thing is, although I used 3 different colours of Oxides they all look the same now on top of the Lustre. I didnt spray any water on the Oxide simply as I was afraid the water would just puddle up and trying to mop it up would wipe the stamping off..

Please note the Oxides took quite some time to fully dry BUT its dry and stays put (unless you give it a very good rub)
Well once my backgrounds was dry, I cut the 3 panels you see here on the top card. I simply matted and layered on top of a black piece of card and I finished the card with a sentiment stamp.

This one is made from the leftover background. I simply diecut a circle from each background and layered them up with foam tape. Again, finished with a sentiment stamp.

And that is it for today.

Graciellie Design - Inspiration

Hey Bloggers

Its time to share a bit of mid month inspiration for

Of you follow me on FACEBOOK, you might have seen that I have just "discovered" foiling. Well ive known about it for a long time as my sister is a big fan, but until now, Ive not had the tools to try it out myself. Well after a visit to my sister over the summer, where she showed me how to do it, Im now hooked and I went strait home and ordered a toner printer.
I already had a laminator so I decided to try that put before I decided if I need to invest in a foiling machine.. So far so good, my laminator is doing good and here is what Ive made.

I have used a vast amount of designs from the Graciellie Design STORE.
The Rose/clock is from the "True Direction" set.
The Dove is from the "Peace" set.
The butterflies are from the "Black &White" paper pack (also digital)
The sentiment is from the "Wonderful Things" set.

All I did was to print all the designs I wanted. I use "Word" to re-size and print. Once printed on my toner printer I ran the designs through my laminator with the foil.

The last thing was really just to cut out the designs, layer them up and voila. I just love this card and Im truly in love with foiling now.

And that is all from me today. Thanks for popping by and for any comments left behind.
